A Job Description is an internal HR document. It is not published publicly or shared with candidates. It lives in your HR files or HRIS and is used to guide hiring decisions, set compensation, and evaluate performance.

A Job Posting is what candidates see. It is shorter, warmer, and written directly to the person applying. This is what you publish on your careers page, LinkedIn, Indeed, and other job boards. It is a different document from the Job Description above โ€” do not file this one internally.
